I am currently working on my thesis for my bachelor degree. My topic is conversation analysis on political news interview focused on the conversational style presented by the interviewee. I am going to use the theory '' high involvement style vs low involvement style'' proposed by Tannen. in her book, Tannen analyzes casual conversation and mentioned several features that constitute style. What is confusing me is that I myself am not sure whether or not this theory is relevant for institutional talk.
