We are happy to announce that the Young Linguists' Meeting in Poznań (YLMP2014) will take place on 4-6 April 2014 in Poznań, Poland. The Meeting will be organised by the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań.
The language of the congress is English.

Collegium Biologicum, is located in the city of Poznań, on a university campus Morasko. The CB building has lecture halls and computer labs. Within a 10-minute-walk from the campus, the hotel where the YLMP2014 participants can be accommodated is located. Both double- and multiple-person rooms are available, each en suite. Accommodation in a high-standard hotel in the city centre is also available.

Call for Papers :
The leitmotif of the YLMP2014 Congress will be:
'Directions in interdisciplinary linguistic research: Embracing diversity.'
Proposals of papers related to this main theme, as well as to other fields of modern linguistics, are invited.
Who can submit?
- Students enrolled in a BA, MA or a PhD programme
- BA- and MA holders
- PhD holders up to five years after their defence
The suggested research areas for block sessions are as follows:
- Psycholinguistics / neurolinguistics / clinical linguistics
- Cognitive linguistics
- Sociolinguistics and discourse studies
- Language and meaning
- Language and gesture
- Language and technology
- Language teaching methodology
- Language and artificial systems
- Translation studies
- Language, gender, and sexuality
We are also planning to organise a formal session. However, final decisions regarding the session will depend on the number of submissions.
Each paper will be given 30 minutes, including 10 minutes for discussion. There will also be a major poster sessions.
We also plan to organise thematic workshop sessions. The areas we want to concentrate on are:
- Eyetracking
- Gender and sexuality in the Polish ESL classroom
- Language and gesture
- Introduction to experimental methods in linguistics
- Corpus Linguistics methods in Critical Discourse Analysis
Workshop organisers will be local as well as foreign specialists in the above-mentioned fields.
Main submission deadline for all abstracts: 10 January 2014
Notification of acceptance for papers and posters: 15 February 2014
Registration deadline: 3 March 2014
