For a research project on language learner discourse in informal language learning online, I am seeking access to synchronous computer-mediated communication (SCMC) data. Researchers typically collect their own classroom-based text chat and voice chat data but have no easy way to access text chat and voice chat from informal language learning online such as Live Mocha, Voxswap.com, Palabea.com or the Goethe Institute’s global chatroom Jetzt Deutsch Lernen (‘Learn German Now’). Does anyone happen to know of any such learner text-chat transcripts or voice-chat recordings I might be able to get access to?
