Description:

The Department of English at the University of Mannheim (Germany) offers with immediate effect
- Two doctoral/post-doc positions in psycholinguistics/multilingualism (67%, TVL-E13)
- One doctoral/PhD position in psycholinguistics/language acquisition (50%, TVL-E13)

The positions are at the rank of “Akademische/r Mitarbeiter/in” (TV-L E13, 67% for (A) or 50% for (B)) for one year, with the option of extensions up to four years in total after successful evaluations of progress at the end of the first year. The salary ranges from 20k to 23k Euros (50%) and 27k to 30k Euros (67%) per year depending on the applicant’s experience.

We are looking for candidates with backgrounds and interests in (second or third) language acquisition, the psycholinguistics of multilingualism, e.g. lexical, cognitive and grammatical processing as well as related areas.

The department has experimental facilities including reaction-time computers as well as stationary and remote eye-trackers. Further information about the department can be found at http://www.anglistik.uni-mannheim.de. 

In addition to pursuing their PhD or research projects, the successful candidates will teach two English-language 90-minute seminar courses in each 14-week semester.

Applicants should:
- Have an excellent MA degree or equivalent in hand in a subject related to the PhD project
- Have advanced German and English skills
- Demonstrable teaching and research experience
