Description:

The Department of Languages and Literature at the University of Utah invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Spanish Sociolinguistics (tenure-line). The successful candidate will have expertise in one or more areas of sociolinguistics and provide clear evidence of research potential as well as demonstrated teaching excellence. In addition, experience with online and blended teaching methods and familiarity with dual immersion is highly desirable. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English is a prerequisite. Teaching load is four courses (two per semester). Service commensurate with the position of assistant professor is expected. Applicants must have a PhD in Spanish or equivalent terminal degree in hand by August 15, 2014. Complete applications include a letter of application, CV, a representative writing sample, and three letters of recommendation. Review of applications will begin November 15, 2013.
