Translation at the Frontiers of the Lexicon:
The New Fields of Terminology

On Friday, May 31, 2013, the 6th Terminology Seminar in Brussels took place (http://www.termisti.org/seminar2013.html). Contributors to the seminar where asked to discuss how terminographers should deal with lexical units that lexicographers are often hesitant to include in specialised dictionaries e.g. names of official bodies, brand names, product names, company names, initialisms, acronyms, toponyms, anthroponyms, natural phenomena, molecules, culinary specialities, local products, hapax legomena, etc.

Publisher Éditions EME will dedicate a volume to the theme of this seminar in their collection on language sciences (http://www.eme-editions.be/fr/18-proximites-sciences-du-langage). In addition to speakers at the seminar, all potential contributors – researchers, teachers and practitioners – are invited to contribute to this publication, which will be directed by professors Marc Van Campenhoudt (Termisti) and Rita Temmerman (Centrum voor vaktaal en communicatie of Vrije Universiteit Brussel).

The call for papers can be found at http://www.termisti.org/call2013.pdf. Contributions should be submitted in French or English by October 31, 2013, to info[at]termisti.org
