The database for spoken German (Datenbank für Gesprochenes Deutsch, DGD2) is available at:

http://dgd.ids-mannheim.de

It gives access to 19 corpora of spoken German hosted by the Archive for Spoken German (http://agd.ids-mannheim.de) at the Institute for the German language. Registration is required, usage is restricted to members of academia (researchers and students).

Among the corpora are several larger dialect collections from the 1950s and 1960s such as the corpus 'Deutsche Mundarten' (aka Zwirner-Korpus) and several conversation corpora, most notably the Research and Teaching Corpus of Spoken German (Forschungs- und Lehrkorpus Gesprochenes Deutsch, FOLK). Altogether, the database contains around 9000 speech events, 2500 hours of audio recordings or 8 million transcribed words.

The DGD2 gives access to recordings, transcriptions, and metadata of these corpora. It allows users to browse and systematically query the data. Selected portions of the corpora are also available for download.

For further information please visit the project's website (http://dgd.ids-mannheim.de) or write an email to dgd at ids-mannheim.de
