The 45th annual meeting of North East Linguistic Society (NELS 45) will be held at MIT from October 31 - November 2, 2014.

NELS involves presentations from all areas of theoretical linguistics.

Call for Papers:

Deadline for submission: Tuesday, July 1, 11:59pm EST

We invite abstracts from all fields of theoretical linguistics as part of the general session. Talks will be 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes for discussion. As part of the general session, there also will be two poster sessions. Submissions are limited to two per author, with at most one paper being single-authored.

In addition to the general session, submissions are also invited for a special session titled The Phonological Consequences of Morphological Structure. Talks in the session will present analyses of cyclic effects in phonology, examining how morphosyntactic structure may influence their appearance. You may indicate whether you would like to be considered for the special session when submitting your abstract.

Abstract Format:

Abstracts, including references and data, should be limited to two single spaced pages (US Letter) with one inch margins, minimum font size 11pt (Times New Roman). Examples should be interspersed throughout the text. Abstracts must be submitted in pdf format through EasyAbs (http://linguistlist.org/confservices/nels45) and must be received by July 1, 2014, 23:59pm EDT. The submission must not reveal the identity of the author(s) in any way. Abstracts submitted for the special session will also be considered for the general session
