Description:

The Linguistics Department at the University of California, San Diego is committed to building an excellent and diverse faculty, staff, and student body. The program is currently accepting applications for a one-year temporary lecturer position during the 2014-2015 academic year. The position carries a teaching load of 6 quarter-long classes (2 per quarter), with a planned split between four undergraduate and two graduate courses. At the undergraduate level, the preferred candidate should be qualified to teach Introduction to Linguistics (Lign 101), Syntax (Lign 121), Semantics (Lign 130), and an undergraduate elective. Graduate courses will be a combination of required and seminar classes to be determined. Course descriptions can be found at http://www.ucsd.edu/catalog/courses/LING.html.

Candidates should hold the PhD in Linguistics at the time of appointment, have outstanding teaching qualifications, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity.  Whereas the position carries no research obligations, we invite candidates to participate in the exciting and vibrant research life of the department.
