Description:

The Linguistics department at the University of Chicago offers a full time post-baccalurate research position in the area of experimental pragmatics and semantics. The researcher will assist in a project investigating the dynamics of context-dependent meaning, playing a role in the design, construction, execution and interpretation of experimental studies examining the context-dependent interpretation of gradable predicates.

We welcome applicants with training and interest in pragmatics, semantics and psycholinguistics. Previous experience with statistical analysis, programming, or the visual world eyetracking paradigm is a plus. The start date of the position is negotiable; it will run at least through August 31, 2015, with a possibility for extension contingent on available funding. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Applications will be processed until the position is filled.
