Description:

SAP are looking for a Localization Specialist, for Shanghai China location (Pudong Zhangjiang Software Park),

With strong project management and l10n engineering skills for our translation service teams. The successful candidate combines a background and relevant work experience in localization process management, technology, and language quality, and is able to build the bridge among business, translation processes, and technology

Persons in this role are expected to be highly productive, require minimum direction, communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of internal / external teams, lead supporting team members to ensure tasks are completed, and show good judgment in balancing budget, quality, timelines, and deliverables

Expectations and Tasks
- Provide consulting to SAP-internal customers taking personal ownership in ensuring that customer-expectations are met (single point of contact for projects)
- Coordinate all steps dealing with End-2-End translation processes of the relevant SAP Solutions and having strong project management capabilities  drive projects to successful completion (including budget, resources, technical planning)
- Ensure translatability of texts delivered from internal customers by, amongst others, troubleshooting files and conversion routines 
- Collaborate within and across account teams
- Continuously optimize relevant processes with a focus on automation and simplification
- Work collaboratively across organizational boundaries, sites, cultures

Required Work Experience and Education
- University degree in interdisciplinary program combining language and computer science or business administration, respectively, or
- Degree in language program or translation combined with proven track record in localization engineering
- At least 3 years’ experience in the localization/translation industry (language service provider/buyer)
- Experience with IT customers/software translation
- Experience with translation management systems
- Experience with working in a global set-up
- Experience with reporting tools
- Previous work experience in a technical translation position is an asset Technical background and understanding of SAP software logistic processes would be desirable
- Ideally, knowledge and experience in computational linguistics
- Ideally, experience with machine translation

Required Skills
- Advanced English, both spoken and written, including presentation
- Thorough understanding of localization and translation processes, incl. linguistic quality standards, broad experience working with software packages
- Strong change management skills, eager to learn, eager to drive change
- Excellent negotiation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to efficiently master complex processes and concepts to cope with challenging requirements
- Knowledge of XML, HTML and related technologies 
- Basic skills in process modelling and knowledge of related tools
- Familiarity with the MS Windows platforms and MS Office tools
