Description:

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites qualified academics to apply for a faculty position as Lecturer in German Language (3 years renewable contract), in the newly established Centre for Modern Languages.  

We are seeking for an experienced lecturer with a serious commitment to teaching German to tertiary students, developing pedagogical materials and incorporating technological innovations into the curriculum. Candidates who have experience in coordinating courses as well as developing and using multimedia course materials will have an added advantage.

Selection Criteria:
- Postgraduate qualification in German as a foreign language or in German studies
- Native proficiency in written and spoken German
- Experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching German, preferably at tertiary level
- Experience in developing German language materials, including web-based materials 
- Experience with multimedia and computer-based instructional technologies
- Good command of English

The School currently offers electives in twelve modern languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese) and there are plans to increase the number of languages offered in the Centre. The Centre places great importance on enhancing the intercultural knowledge and skills of the learners as well as their linguistic competence.
