Description:

The Department of Linguistics of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ottawa invites applications for a 12-month replacement position in syntax at the assistant professor level, commencing July 1 2014. At the time of appointment, applicants should have a Ph.D. in linguistics, specializing in syntax, with evidence of strong research potential. The teaching load will be 6 courses or 5 courses if the candidate is involved in the (co)supervision of graduate students. The ability to teach in French and/or interest in aboriginal languages would be assets but are not required. For more details on our programs, please visit our web site (above).

The salary is determined in accordance with the Collective Agreement. 

Applicants should submit a CV, representative samples of their research, and arrange for 3 letters of recommendation to be sent directly to Dr. Éric Mathieu, Chair, Department of Linguistics. Le Département de linguistique de la Faculté des arts de l'Université d’Ottawa sollicite des candidatures pour un poste de professeur(e) remplaçant(e) de 12 mois en syntaxe au rang de professeur adjoint, débutant le 1er juillet 2014. Au moment de l’embauche, les candidats doivent détenir un doctorat en linguistique avec spécialisation en syntaxe et avoir démontré un fort potentiel de recherche. La charge d’enseignement sera de 6 cours (en anglais et/ou en français) ou 5 cours si le candidat participe à la (co)supervision d’étudiants diplômés. Un intérêt dans les langues autochtones serait un atout mais n’est pas obligatoire.
