Meeting Description:

The Departments of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee are pleased to announce the 3rd Symposium on Luso-Hispanic Linguistics (III SLHL), to be held Friday and Saturday, 7-8 November, 2014 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

This year's keynote speakers will be:

Manuel Díaz-Campos, Indiana University
Gabriel Rei-Doval, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Registration fees: $40 (students) and $75 (non-student & faculty) to be submitted before October 15, 2014; a $20 late fee will be assessed on registrations received after that date.

2nd Call for Papers:

Submissions for the main session from graduate students and other junior scholars are welcome in any field of descriptive, applied or theoretical linguistics from a synchronic or diachronic perspective. Papers should not exceed 20 minutes. The languages of the symposium are English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Abstracts should be at most one page, with one-inch margins and 12-point font. A second page may be included for references and/or data. Abstracts should be sent to lftejedo at wisc.edu.

The deadline for submission is 12 a.m. CST on Monday, September 15, 2014. You will be notified of the status of your submission by end of September.

Registration and accommodation information will be provided once proposals are accepted.
