Open University Faculty Positions for PhD holders in Linguistics, TESOL/TEFL,
or Related Disciplines (Males or Females) For Academic Year 2014-15
 
The University of Tabuk, represented by the Department of Languages and
Translation along with The English Language Center, seeks qualified candidates
for faculty positions for both males and females in the fields shown above:

Successful university candidates must hold a doctorate from an internationally
recognized institution in their respective fields namely Linguistics,
TEOSL/TEFL or closely related fields for appointment as an Assistant,
Associate, or Full Professor. Candidates should have at least one year of
teaching experience and are expected to demonstrate a commitment to
excellence, teamwork, with a track record of productive research and
professional activities. We will accept applications from Masters or Bachelor
degree holders in English, TESOL, or other related fields combined with some
experience for teaching in pre-university preparation programs.

Interested candidates are invited to submit a letter of interest, a curriculum
vitae, a summary of teaching and research interests, and the names and contact
information of three professional references by e-mail to the application
email below addressed to the Chair: Dr. Abdulrahman Alfahadi, Dr. Sultan
Arishi, and Dr. Monssour Habbash.

Review of applications will begin immediately and short-listed candidates will
be interviewed on a rolling basis. 

Compensation for university faculty: A competitive salary with an excellent
fringe benefits package will be provided to the selected candidates.
University faculty members can earn an additional two months' of base salary
for eligible funded research activities and will receive two months of paid
summer vacation annually. Furthermore, there is an annual housing allowance, a
onetime furniture allowance, and dependent tuition allowance provided to
selected candidates.  Free return airfares will be provided annually to the
candidates and for up to three dependents from Tabuk to their point of origin.
Note: Saudi Arabia is a 100% tax-free country. Pre-university preparation
teachers will also have a competitive salary with benefits.

About the city of Tabuk: A town of great antiquity, Tabuk is the historic
capital of the Tabuk Province located in the north-westernpart of Saudi
Arabia. It is very close to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba. The City stands
2,200 ft above sea level and enjoys an equitable weather with temperature that
ranges between 17 – 37 Cº. Its climate has been compared to the Tucson area in
the southwestern United States.  The city of Tabuk’s ancient history dates
back to 1500 BC and it is the site of numerous archeological sites from
Paleolithic times through the end of the Ottoman Empire.  This region is proud
of its pristine beaches and it has some of the best scuba diving in the world
with equal access
