Meeting Description:

The 2015 Symposium on Second Language Writing will take place 19-21 November,
2015, at AUT University, Auckland, New Zealand. The theme, Learning to write
for academic purposes: Advancing theory, research and practice, will focus on
advancing our knowledge and understanding of what is involved in learning to
write for the many and varied academic purposes that second language (L2)
writers encounter while studying in educational settings and working in
various professions and workplaces.

Call for Papers:

The 2015 Symposium Organizing committee seeks proposals for 20-minute presentations that address various topics within the field of L2 writing broadly defined.

Any topic related to theory, research, or teaching of second language writing is welcome. As with previous Symposiums, we are interested in L2 writing issues in any second or foreign language for any age group in academic contexts. 

Proposals must include both a 50-word summary and a 300-word abstract. 

To submit your proposal, please use the online proposal submission form:

Proposals must be received by Friday 27 February 2015 (21:59 pm New Zealand Time). Proposals will be peer reviewed by a panel of experts. Notification of acceptance will be sent out by 27 March, 2015. 

Up to two submissions are allowed, but the same person cannot be listed as the first author for more than one proposal. Once the proposal has been accepted, no additional presenters can be added.
