Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Swarthmore College invites applications for a
one-year, Visiting Assistant Professor position in theoretical linguistics
beginning in Fall 2015 for the 2015-2016 academic year. The teaching load is
five courses over the academic year. Teaching experience is essential, as is
the ability to teach several of the following: Introduction to Linguistics,
Syntax, Phonology, Semantics, Morphology, Field Methods / Language
Documentation, and an advanced seminar in the candidate’s area of expertise.
The Linguistics Department is a collaborative Tri-College curricular program
involving faculty and students from Bryn Mawr, Swarthmore and Haverford
Colleges. 

Please submit (1) a letter of application, (2) a curriculum vitae, (3) a
one-page statement of courses you would like to teach, (4) three letters of
recommendation, and (5) two articles or chapters you have written. All
materials must be submitted electronically, through Academic Jobs Online

by February 2, 2015. We will require applicants to have the PhD in hand before
the beginning of the term of appointment.
