Literary Semantics: Past, Present, Future? 

2014 will mark the 22nd anniversary of the first IALS conference in 1992, which was also held at Eliot College at the University of Kent. Also, in 2014 the University of Kent celebrates its 50th anniversary. In keeping with the spirit of marking milestones, the theme of the conference will be general, and diachronic in orientation.

2nd Call for Papers:

We are pleased to announce that the deadline for submission of abstracts for the 6th Conference of the International Association of Literary Semantics (3-5 July 2014, University of Kent, Canterbury, UK) has been extended until 21 February 2014.

Abstracts for 20-minute papers (plus 10 minutes discussion) may be submitted by email to IALS2014 at kent.ac.uk, preferably as an attachment in Word or similar, from now onwards.

Submitted abstracts should include the submitter’s full name (including any academic title), their mailing address as well as their email address, their university affiliation if applicable. If applicable, they should also state whether they are a registered student (BA, MA, or Ph D) and identify the university and department in which they are studying. Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words (excluding title and references).
