University of Essex doctoral scholarships:
Our University of Essex Doctoral Scholarships support talented PhD students to study at the University. These awards are available to UK, EU and international full-time PhD students who can demonstrate an excellent academic background and the potential for future achievement, as well as financial need. To be eligible, you must hold an offer from the University of Essex for a PhD (3-year doctoral programme) or Integrated/New Route PhD (4-year doctoral programme, which includes a year of initial training). The Department of Language and Linguistics welcomes applications in applied linguistics, theoretical linguistics, sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics.
Deadline for applications: 1 March 2014.

Types of scholarships for 2014 entry:
1. University of Essex Doctoral Scholarship
Fee waiver (or partial fee waiver for overseas students) to a maximum value of £4,000, living costs of £12,000 per year, plus a training bursary of £250 per year and points, which may be used to 'buy' advanced skills training.

2. University of Essex Graduate Teaching and Research Assistantship 
Fee waiver (or partial fee waiver for overseas students) to a maximum value of £4,000, living costs of £4,000 per year, plus a training bursary of £250 per year and points, which may be used to 'buy' advanced skills training.

3. University of Essex Doctoral Fee Waiver                                                      
Fee waiver (or partial fee waiver for overseas students) to a maximum value of £4,000, a training bursary of £250 per year and points, which may be used to 'buy' advanced skills training.
