Description:

This position requires administrative, advising, instructional, and research duties, directing and coordinating undergraduate and graduate Spanish programs with attention to recruitment and retention, while advising Spanish majors, teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Spanish, and conducting scholarly research.

This position requires the selected candidate to teach Spanish at either or both of the undergraduate and graduate levels; to be available for mentoring and advising students; to help coordinate and expand Spanish course offerings at our campuses in both Commerce and around the Dallas Metroplex, including the possibility of teaching face-to-face at locations in addition to Commerce. Candidates must also be able to coordinate and supervise all activities in the Spanish B.A. and M.A. programs, including developing new initiatives for recruiting and retaining qualified students. Additional duties include satisfactory engagement with scholarly research, and service duties. The ideal candidates will have Sociolinguistics with an emphasis on Heritage speakers as their areas of research.

We are especially interested in candidates who possess a dedicated interest in administrative assignments such as coordinating programs.
