This is an invitation for input from people planning to take part in the 18th International Congress of Phonetic Sciences (ICPhS ), Glasgow 2015 (http://www.icphs2015.info).

At previous ICPhS conferences, there have been special sessions, the composition of which has been determined by groups of phoneticians wishing to focus on a specific theme or topic. ICPhS 2015 proposes to hold a new kind of session, discussant-led sessions, in place of special sessions. The papers presented in these sessions will be selected by eminent specialists from the submissions to the main conference, once the reviewing process of all submitted papers has been completed.

Who will these eminent specialist discussants be? We will shape this part of the programme using the knowledge of researchers intending to take part in the conference. That is, if you intend to take part in ICPhS, we would like you to advise us, by suggesting up to two specialists with their topic area.

Please fill out the form below and send it to contact at icphs2015.info by 31 of March 2014, in a message with subject line: ''ICPhS discussant recommendation''.

Recommended discussant 1:
Topic area of discussant 1:

Recommended discussant 2:
Topic area of discussant 2:

The topic area should be an area of specialist expertise within phonetics or with a bearing on phonetics (e.g. articulatory phonetics; acquisition; forensic phonetics; intonation; etc.). Specialists will be people whom you would be most interested to hear reflect on the selected research area. We will use your responses as the basis for selecting and inviting specialists to act as discussants.

While there will be no special sessions within the main conference programme, those attending the conference also have the option to design a satellite meeting, the composition and time structure of which can be determined freely by its organisers. The conference venue will be freely available for satellite meetings to be held during the afternoon of Wednesday 12 August. Further information can be found online at http://www.icphs2015.info/Meetings.aspx.

We look forward to seeing you in Glasgow!
