MLA 2015: Spanish Language in California

This session seeks papers that explore the dialect of Spanish used in California and how it interacts with other languages and dialects. With this in mind, we are interested in answering the following questions:

- What Spanish is spoken in California? 
- Is there, or were there, a dialect of Spanish in California? 
- What kind of relationship Spanish establishes in California with other languages? And with other dialects of Spanish?
- What are the sources for exploring Spanish language in California?

Call for Papers:

This is not a guaranteed session, but a way to solicit paper submissions. Presenters must be members of the MLA. 

Please, send your 500-word abstracts to Covadonga Lamar Prieto, covadonga.lamar-prieto at ucr.edu before March 15, 2014.
