Associate Professor/Assistant Professor/Lecturer (Cultural Studies)

Faculty of Humanities

The Faculty of Humanities seeks applications for a full-time academic position at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The appointee will be responsible for teaching duties, contributing to programme development, engaging in departmental and school services, and pursuing an active research and publication agenda, including the application for research funding from external sources.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in the broad domain of cultural studies (including the fields of comparative literature, media and communication, visual culture, cultural anthropology, etc), preferably familiar with Chinese/Hong Kong culture, and a record of research leading to high-quality refereed publications. Fresh PhD holders or PhD students in their final year with good potential in research may be considered for the post of Lecturer. Applicants with a very strong record of research and publications will be considered for the post of Associate Professor.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits and, where applicable, housing benefits.
