Applications are called for visiting fellowships at the Humanities Research Centre, Australian National University, tenable in 2015. The theme is 'Global Languages': ''How do societies react to the language challenge created by the rise of global languages? How do global languages influence ways of thinking and reasoning, ways of seeing the world, ways of expressing feelings? How does this affect small language groups? How do they influence other modes of communication?''

Visiting Fellows participate in the programs of the HRC and ANU, meet regularly with other fellows, make public presentations of their research, possibly offer a graduate seminar/Master Class and avail themselves of other opportunities for scholarly exchange. The standard period for visitors is 12 weeks, and visitors are in residence for at least 75% of their appointment. The grant covers travel and accommodation only. The maximum contribution for travel is $3,000 AUD. Accommodation is in a one bedroom self-contained apartment on the university campus. This financial assistance for travel and accommodation expenses is not a salary replacement.
