Description:

Bangor University, Centre for Research on Bilingualism, Wales ESRC Doctoral Training Centre

We invite applications for a fully funded three-year PhD studentship in Bilingualism at Bangor University to start from October 1st 2014 (or as soon as possible thereafter). The studentship is funded by the Wales ESRC Doctoral Training Centre. The successful applicant will work on the project entitled “Language and cognitive abilities in bilingual children and the role of the educational context” under the supervision of Dr. Vicky Chondrogianni (principal supervisor – School of Linguistics and English Language) and Dr. Enlli Thomas (second supervisor – School of Education).

Funding details: The studentship includes payment of UK/EU level tuition fees, a maintenance allowance of approximately £13,590 and an annual research allowance of approximately £750.

Eligibility: Applications are open UK/EU nationals. Applicants would normally hold a post-graduate level qualification in Linguistics, Psychology, Education, or a related area.
