Full Title: Questions and Answers in Linguistics

Linguistic Field(s): General Linguistics

Call Deadline: 30-Apr-2014

Call for Papers: Questions and Answers in Linguistics
Deadline: April 30, 2014

The journal Questions and Answers in Linguistics invites submissions of original scholarly papers in the field of theoretical and experimental linguistics for issue 1 of volume 2.

About the journal

Who are we?
Questions and Answers in Linguistics (QAL) is a free online peer-reviewed journal published by Center for General and Comparative Linguistics at the University of Wrocław, Poland. QAL presents papers focused on problematic areas of linguistic research, based on data from diverse languages. As far as theoretical analyses are concerned, we are primarily interested in works within the generative paradigm, although papers using different theoretical approaches will also be considered. We express an interest in interdisciplinary research employing methods from typology, historical studies, corpus studies and experimental psycho- or neurolinguistics providing an empirical background to purely theoretical research. We assume that an exhaustive understanding of a phenomenon as complex as natural language can only come about from bringing together pieces of evidence from many different sources.

Who can publish?
We accept submissions from professional researchers as well as students.

What can be published?
We are looking for original research papers (presenting formal analyses, fieldwork, corpus research or experiment results) and reviews of current literature. The article must be written in English, it should not be published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere and it should not greatly exceed 30 pages in length.

Submission

Authors interested in publication should send their manuscripts as well as any questions at: piotr.gulgowski at gmail.com

Each paper selected for publication will be evaluated by at least two reviewers, following the double-blind review policy. For this reason, an additional anonymous version of the manuscript should be submitted. Both versions should be sent in two formats: a doc or docx file and a pdf file. For more information, including our style guide, visit the QAL website: http://www.ifa.uni.wroc.pl/linguistics/qal.html
