Meeting Description:

The etymological department of the Institute of the Czech Language of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic will hold the conference “Etymological Symposium Brno 2014: Etymological Research of Old Church Slavonic: from the Slavonic, Indo-European and General Linguistic Perspective” in Brno, from 9–11 September 2014. The conference will contain a poster session.

The contributions are expected to focus on theoretical and practical aspects of the diachronic linguistic research illustrated especially on the data from Old Church Slavonic in the Slavonic, Indo-European and general linguistic context.

Conference organizers: Dr. Ilona Janyskova and Dr. Helena Karlikova

Call for Papers:

Please send in an abstract (1,500 characters at most) of your contribution in Czech, Russian, English, French or German by 28 February 2014 to the e-mail address es at iach.cz. Your abstract will be anonymously reviewed by a scientific committee. 

Written versions of the accepted contributions will be published in the series Studia etymologica Brunesia. The language of the paper – accompanied by an abstract in English and by a summary in a Slavonic language – will be English, Russian, German or French.

You will be notified by 30 March 2013 whether your contribution has been accepted for the conference.
