Call Deadline: 01-Mar-2014

Meeting Description:

This is the 11th evaluation lab on uncovering plagiarism, authorship, and
social software misuse. PAN will be held as part of the CLEF conference in
Sheffield, UK, on September 15-18, 2014. Evaluations will commence from
January till June.

We invite you to take part in any of the three tasks shown below:

1. Plagiarism Detection: Given a document, is it an original?

This task studies source retrieval and text alignment, i.e. retrieving
likely sources of a suspicious document, and aligning reused passages of
text between them.

2. Author Identification: Given a document, who wrote it?

This task focuses on authorship verification and methods that tell us
whether two given documents have the same author; a frequent challenge of
forensic linguistics. This question accurately emulates the real-world
problem that most forensic linguists face every day.

3. Author Profiling: Given a document, what's its author's age/gender?

This task is about predicting an author's demographics from her writing.
Besides being personally identifiable, an author's style may also reveal
her age and gender, which will be useful in further establishing an
author's identity. It will include various data sets, including reviews and
Twitter tweets.
