Eating and Cooking in Interaction

Meeting Description: 

The workshop is dedicated to the presentation and to the discussion of work in progress on the topic of interaction during meals or during meal preparation, in professional or private contexts.

It aims at reflecting on the forms of complexity which are at work in ordinary social situations, in particular at the following levels:

Multiactivity: eating / cooking – speaking (telling, chatting, explaining, etc.)
Multimodality: verbal actions / gestural actions / actions with objects (showing, helping, holding, passing, catching, etc.)
Collaboration: organizing, overseeing, delegating, asking, aligning oneself, participating, etc.
Assessment: enjoying, criticizing, judging, testing, complimenting, rebuking, expressing doubts, etc.

The speakers have been requested to present ongoing research on which they would enjoy discussion and feedback. Every speaker has 30 minutes of presentation followed by 15 minutes for the discussion. A 15 minutes gap is planned between each slot.
