Meeting Description:

The 6th international Conference on Tone and Intonation in Europe (TIE 6) is jointly organised by the Utrecht Institute of Linguistics (UiL-OTS) and the Leiden University Centre of Linguistics (LUCL), and will take place at Utrecht University, the Netherlands on September 10-12, 2014. 

The TIE conference series has been a biennial event since 2004, bringing together researchers on the phonetic, phonological, and typological aspects of tone and intonation in a wide variety of languages. TIE 6 continues the tradition of the TIE conference series and at the same time, gives special attention to psycholinguistic aspects of prosody.

We welcome abstracts for oral and poster presentations on topics including but not limited to:

4. Cortical and sub-cortical processing of tone and intonation
5. Individual differences in production and comprehension of tone and intonation
6. Tone and intonation in L1, L2, and bilingual acquisition
7. Tone and intonation in atypical language development
8. Intonation and speech-accompanying gesture
9. Visual prosody
