Meeting Description:

Anéla (Dutch association of applied linguistics) organizes every three years an Applied Linguistics Conference in association with the Belgian Association for Applied Linguistics (ABLA) and AILA-Europe.

The 8th Anéla conference will take place 22-23 May 2015 (Friday & Saturday) in Hotel Zuiderduin, Egmond aan Zee.

Please do not hesitate to contact the conference organization at: anela.conference2015 at gmail.com.

Call for Papers:

Call for proposals: submit an abstract for a presentation, poster, colloquium, or full paper. See http://www.anela.nl/activiteiten/conferenties-nederland/call-for-papers/ and submit your abstract online.

We invite you to submit proposals for contributions in the form of a poster, presentation, paper or colloquium. The deadline for proposals is September 4, 2014.

Submit your abstracts of no more than 250 words in .txt format (e.g. Notepad) through this form. Abstracts will be subjected to a double blind peer review process.

Posters (on A0 paper size) are intended for one-to-one discussion of research in early stages or for presenting research with data that are best presented visually. Poster presenters will compete for the John Benjamins/Anéla poster prize.

Presentations are intended to discuss advanced or finished research, in time slots of: 20 minutes presentation, 10 minutes discussion.

Papers are meant for presenting finished research: a discussant and an audience read the full paper in advance. The researcher will give a 5 minute presentation, followed by a 25 minute peer-discussion.

If your abstract is accepted, you will be asked to develop it into a full paper of max. 6000 words. Deadline full papers: January 5th 2015. Articles will be published in a (digital) conference volume.

Colloquia (in 2-hour blocks) are used for discussing important themes in applied linguistics and consist of an introductory presentation, three regular presentations and optionally one or more posters. Each colloquium should form a coherent whole and should provide a basis for debate that is initiated by two discussants. Proposals for colloquia should be submitted as a whole, with titles, abstracts and keywords for each of the presentations.

All papers and abstracts will be published in a (digital) conference volume that will be distributed to the participants prior to the conference.
