Linguistic Field(s): Computational Linguistics

Call Deadline: 06-Sep-2014

Meeting Description:

Sharif University of Technology will host the 3rd Conference on Computational Linguistics in November 19-20, this year. The papers presented in this event are scientific achievements of researchers who specialize in theoretical and practical realms of linguistics, cognitive sciences, artificial intelligence, machine translation, information and communication technology, designing of search engines, data development from language corpora, text and speech processing, text-to-speech conversion, speech-to-text conversion, and developing databases. Therefore, the conference will encompass a broad range of researches investigating issues in natural language processing and practical studies in the field of computation linguistics.

A string of coincidences including the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Sharif University of Technology, and simultaneously the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the first Linguistics Department in Iran, gave the conference organizers a greater incentive to commemorate these two historic events by conducting the 3rd conference on computational linguistics as a joint effort of Sharif University of Technology, and the Linguistics Society of Iran.

Call for Papers:

The 3rd Conference on Computational Linguistics is a joint effort of Sharif University of Technology and Linguistics Society of Iran. The scientific committee of the conference invites the submission of full papers on substantial, original, and unpublished research in all aspects of Computational Linguistics, including but not limited to the following areas:

- Artificial intelligence
- Machine translation
- Information and communication technology
- Search engine designing
- Text mining and information extraction
- Text and speech processing
- Text-to-speech conversion
- Speech-to-text conversion
- Development of language resources

Prospective authors are invited to submit full (and original research) papers (which is not submitted/published/under consideration anywhere in other conferences/journal) in electronic format online.

All full paper submissions will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research content/depth, correctness, relevance to conference, contributions, and readability. All accepted papers that are registered and presented on CLconference 2014 will be published in the conference proceedings.

The languages of the conference will be Persian and English. Submission and reviewing will be managed online by the conference system. Submissions must be uploaded on the system by the submission deadlines; submissions after that time will not be reviewed.
