Description:

The Department of French and Italian at Tulane University seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor to teach courses in Haitian language and culture, beginning in August 2014. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Two courses each semester will be Haitian Creole language courses that are part of our four-semester sequence. The third course might be a French language course or a course on some aspect of Haitian or Caribbean literature, history, or culture. The teaching of Haitian Creole is an integral part of the vibrant francophone studies program within the Department of French and Italian and of Tulane’s Latin American Studies program, which is one of the top-ranked programs in the U.S. One-year appointment with possibility of renewal. Salary is $40,000. PhD required for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor; appointment as Visiting Lecturer possible with M.A.
