Dear all,

For a project on language learning in bilingual children in Germany, I am looking for native speakers of the following languages to help with stimulus validation:

Albanian
Arabic
Kurdish
Polish
Portuguese (European)
Romani
Russian
Turkish
Vietnamese

I am trying to find monosyllabic items (e.g. [nif]) that are pronounceable but do not mean anything in any of these languages, in order to test the acquisition of new words by mono- and bilingual children (who speak German and one of these languages).

If you can spare 10 minutes and help me with this task, please get in touch by email. I will then send you a spreadsheet with ca. 100 items in IPA. You do not need to have any special knowledge, just be a native speaker of one of the languages above and be able to read the IPA.

Thank you very much in advance!

Best wishes,

Katrin Skoruppa, PhD
