Dear all,

Thanks to everyone who has replied to my last post and offered their help with rating my nonwords. I am still looking for native speakers of the following (rarer) languages - please send an email to kskor at essex.ac.uk if you can help out:

> Albanian
> Kurdish
> Romani
> Vietnamese

For a project on language learning in bilingual children in Germany, I am trying to find monosyllabic items (e.g. [nif]) that are pronounceable but do not mean anything in any of these languages, in order to test the acquisition of new words by mono- and bilingual children (who speak German and one of these languages).

If you can spare 10 minutes and help me with this task, please get in touch by email. I will then send you a spreadsheet with ca. 100 items in IPA. You do not need to have any special knowledge, just be a native speaker of one of the languages above and be able to read the IPA.
