There is a PhD assistantship available for 4 years beginning in the Fall of 2014 or (Spring 2015) in the PhD program of the Department of Educational Theory and Practice at the State University of New York, Albany. The assistantship requires the successful candidate to work as an editorial assistant at the international journal “Intercultural Pragmatics” published by Mouton de Gruyter: Berlin/New York, and edited by Professor Istvan Kecskes.

Responsibilities include proof-reading, copy-editing, preparing manuscripts for publication (4 issues per year), logging, and maintaining files on in-coming manuscripts through all stages of publication; and performing editorially-related administrative tasks.

The assistantship pays $12,000. It carries 9 units of tuition per semester.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered 501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.
