Description
The Department of Linguistics is currently seeking applications from candidates with professional qualifications in speech pathology to fill a position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Speech Pathology. The successful applicant will teach units in Speech Pathology and related areas and will contribute to the scholarship of the Department through a program of personal research. 

Selection Criteria 
To be considered for this position applicants must respond to the selection criteria below and upload a response in a separate document during the application process. Applicants must nominate whether their application is for Level B or Level C.

Level B
Essential:
- Practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia and familiarity with the Competency Based Occupational Standards for Speech Pathologists (CBOS, 2011)*
- A PhD focused on speech and language disabilities in children
- A well-articulated research agenda and a track record of good quality publications relevant to stage of career 
- Demonstrated academic knowledge in speech pathology and a commitment and capability to deliver high quality learning and teaching, including the design, delivery, and management of lectures, tutorials, and assessment
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to relate to staff and students from all backgrounds and to represent the Department to external stakeholders and the general public
- Demonstrated experience to make a useful contribution to the academic life and administrative tasks of the Department with a track record of effective team work
Desirable:
- Demonstrated ability to attract external funding for research and a record of competitive grant successes
- Experience and interest in interdisciplinary research
- Experience and interest in online learning

Level C
Essential:
- Practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia and familiarity with the Competency Based Occupational Standards for Speech Pathologists (CBOS, 2011)*
- A PhD focused on speech and language disabilities in children
- A well-articulated research agenda and a track record of publications in high quality journals
- A demonstrated ability to attract external funding for research and a record of competitive grant successes
- Demonstrated academic knowledge in speech pathology and a commitment and capability to deliver high quality learning and teaching, including the design, delivery, and management of programs, lectures, tutorials, and assessments
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to relate to staff and students from all backgrounds and to represent the Department to external stakeholders and the general public
- Experience with research student supervision
- Demonstrated experience to make a useful contribution to the academic life and administrative tasks of the Department with a track record of effective team work
Desirable:
- Experience and interest in interdisciplinary research
- Experience in the development of ongoing partnerships with industry and/or professional bodies
- Experience and interest in online learning

Salary package: From $88,741 - $104,996 p.a. (Level B), and $108,354 - $124,607 p.a. (Level C) plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
