Abstract:

Die Studie analysiert Fernsehnachrichten erstmals in größerem Umfang sowohl diachron wie auch sprach- und kulturvergleichend und führt dabei verschiedene Ansätze der Medienlinguistik, der kontrastiven Textologie, der Textlinguistik, der Stilistik, der linguistischen Kulturanalyse sowie der Neueren Sprachgeschichte zusammen. Mit dem Konzept der «Textsortenprofile» entwickelt sie zugleich eine innovative Methodologie für die Analyse von Textsorten. Im Zentrum der Untersuchung steht die Frage nach der Kulturalität von einzelnen Textsorten und ganzen Sendungsformaten und damit die Frage nach kulturellen Unterschieden in der massenmedialen Weltdarstellung. Exemplarisch bearbeitet werden diese Fragen anhand der amerikanischen «CBS Evening News» und der Schweizer «Tagesschau» von deren Anfängen in den 1940er bzw. 1950er Jahren bis zum Anfang des 21. Jahrhunderts.

Als inhaltliche Ergebnisse liefert die Studie eine fernsehnachrichtenspezifische Textsortenklassifikation, eine umfassende Geschichte der Sendungsformate und eine detaillierte diachrone Analyse wichtiger Fernsehnachrichten-Textsorten.
