Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce that the 4th Mikola Conference on Lexicology and Lexicography of the Uralic and Siberian languages will be held in Szeged, Hungary, November 14-15, 2014, and will be hosted by the Department of Finno-Ugric Linguistics at the University of Szeged.

Our departmant has been organizing conferences for 13 years in honor of Professor Tibor Mikola, the former head of the department. The present conference carries on this tradition. 

Call for Papers:

The topic of the 4th Mikola Conference is lexicology and lexicography. We invite researchers of Uralic and other Siberian languages who are working on the following areas of lexicology and lexicography:

- Lexical typology
- Lexical semantics
- Pragmatic lexicology
- Cognitive lexicology
- Contact and areal linguistics
- Corpus linguistic
- Applied lexicology and lexicography
- Historical lexicology and lexicography
- Etymology

The official language of the conference is English. Abstracts and hand-outs should be prepared in English. The papers are delivered in English, but it is possible to present paper in another language. Please, inform the organizers in advance. However, please consider that no interpreting service is foreseen.

All proposals will be anonymously reviewed.

Presentations will be 20 minutes in length, followed by a 10-minute discussion period. There will also be a session for poster presentations.
