Description:

The Department of English Language and Linguistics, School of European Culture and Languages is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Applied Linguistics. In addition to maintaining a strong research profile, the appointee’s duties will include directing the new MA in Applied Linguistics/TESOL, developing, convening, and teaching modules suitable for the MA in Applied Linguistics/TESOL and the MA in Linguistics, as well as convening and teaching relevant modules from Stage 1 to Stage 3 for the BA in English Language and Linguistics.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, as well as an appropriate teaching qualification. Evidence of substantial research activity, including peer-reviewed publications is essential, along with the ability to teach TESOL methodology, from both a theoretical and practical perspective. A secondary interest in any field of linguistics that can contribute to or complement existing areas of expertise within the Department of English Language and Linguistics is highly desirable.
