Full Title: Scripta Manent

Linguistic Field(s): Applied Linguistics

Call Deadline: 30-May-2014

Scripta Manent (http://www.sdutsj.edus.si/ScriptaManent/Submissions.html) is happy to invite submissions of original manuscripts for Volume 9/1. The requirements are outlined in the Submission Guidelines.

Submission deadline: 31st May, 2014

Scripta Manent of the Slovene Association of LSP Teachers is a peer-reviewed professional journal designed primarily as a resource for LSP teachers involved in secondary and tertiary education. It is committed to contributing to the professional development of its readers around the world by publishing manuscripts that strive to bridge theory and practice in the LSP teaching profession.

Scripta Manent is published twice a year exclusively on the World Wide Web with each issue focusing on a special theme. Manuscripts covering topics other than those advertised are also welcome as long as they focus on languages for specific purposes.

Scripta Manent welcomes submissions of previously unpublished manuscripts in the following categories:

Articles
We welcome articles that draw on experience with new LSP methods, materials, means of assessment and other areas of professional interest as well as practical applications of LSP description or analysis. Articles describing carefully planned and executed experiments in the field of LSP are also welcome.

Articles should seek to balance theory and practice by ensuring that practical descriptions relate to underlying theoretical principles and theoretical concepts to their practical applications. They should show awareness of recent work carried out in the area on which they report.

Articles can be written in English, German, Italian, French, Spanish or Slovene, i.e. in the language that the article focuses on.

The list of sources should contain only key references.

Articles should include an abstract in English of 120 - 150 words in length, keywords (up to six), and a summary of about 400 words summarizing the main points in Slovene. The editors of the journal will provide the summaries in Slovene for authors from other countries.

Reviewing Process
Step 1: The editors first review each submission received to see if it meets the basic requirements for publication in the journal and if it is of sufficient quality to meet the standards of Scripta Manent. Authors of manuscripts are notified by e-mail as to whether their submission has been sent out for blind review or, if not, why not.

Step 2: All submissions that meet the basic requirements for publication are blind reviewed by two editors or external reviewers.

Terms of Acceptance
Scripta Manent does not accept submissions of previously published articles (print or online) or manuscripts that are being considered for publication elsewhere. It is the responsibility of the author to inform the editor of any similar work that has been published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Authors of accepted manuscripts will assign to Scripta Manent the permanent right to electronically distribute their article, but authors will retain copyright and, after the manuscript has appeared in Scripta Manent, they may republish their text as long as they clearly acknowledge Scripta Manent as the place of original publication, and obtain permission from the publisher.

The editors reserve the right to make editorial changes in any manuscript accepted for publication for the sake of style or clarity.

The cost of all fees payable for permission to use copyright material shall be borne by the author.

Contributions, queries and comments should be sent to the editors to: scripta.manent at sdutsj.edus.si

Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.

Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match any gift you make to a non-profit organization.
