Meeting Description:

National Interdisciplinary Conference on Current Issues of English Teaching and Learning (NICCIETL) is a national conference organized by Pazoheshgaran Andishmand Institute, Ahwaz, Iran.

The NICCIETL will be held on March 4-6, 2015 and will be dedicated to current trends and developments in English teaching and learning studies.

Academics and university lecturers are cordially invited to present their research regarding current issues of English teaching and learning as people who can help the field of English teaching and learning. Such an approach suggests that English education is no longer limited within a certain field; knowledge from different fields cultivates diversity in English education. Recognizing this trend, the NICCIEITL Organizing Committee aims to provide a platform for researchers from various fields to exchange ideas on issues related to the empowerment of English teaching and learning.

2nd Call for Papers:

The conference will be an opportunity for national and international academics and university lecturers to share their latest research findings and to keep abreast of the most recent developments in the field. Researchers and scholars from around the world are invited to submit their papers to be evaluated for inclusion in the conference program. The papers can cover a range of topics in applied linguistics and English teaching and learning. The abstracts will be evaluated by International Scientific Committee Members based on their originality, novelty, rigor and relevance to the conference theme. The accepted papers will be scheduled for oral/poster presentations, workshops, demonstrations and colloquia. 

Paper can be submitted on any issue related to teaching/learning of English as a second/foreign language such as:

- Approaches to teaching ELT
- Approaches to English Learning
- Classroom-based/formal language learning
- Naturalistic/informal language learning
- Teaching skills/sub-skills
- Child L2 acquisition
- ELT for young learners
- Adult L2 learning
- ELT at university/tertiary level
- Literature and teaching
- Discourse and teaching
- Management in ELT
- Translation and teaching
- Materials development and syllabus design
- Curriculum/planning issues
- Measurement and evaluation in ELT
- CALL/MALL/CALT
- Multilingualism in ELT
- ESP/EAP
- Learner language
- Leaner/teacher relationships
- Cross-cultural issues in ELT
- Challenges in ELT
- Future directions in ELT

Types of Presentations:

Oral Presentations:

These are 20-minute presentations with 10 minutes for Q & A. Presenters discuss their work in relation to theory or practice.

Poster Presentations:

These presentations will run throughout the conference. Note: Absentee presentations are also allowed.

Workshops:

These are 60-minute hands-on sessions in which participants will be engaged in structured activities.

Demonstrations:

These are 20-minute show-and-tell sessions with 10 minutes for Q & A, for explaining an innovative teaching method, the use of technology in teaching or assessing a particular skill.

Colloquia:

These are 40-minute interactive sessions during which the speakers will deliver brief reports on a common topic. The expected number of speakers will be 3-4 and each speaker will have approximately 10 minutes, which leaves some time for Q & A. Speakers will be scheduled based on their areas of expertise. The sessions provide a forum for sharing information.
