Description:

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) is advertising a full-time job as research assistant in English Linguistics. It is a two-year contract which is renewable twice (i.e. up to six years).

The project focus will be on morphology, syntax , semantics, and pragmatics of English. The research assistant may propose either a synchronic or diachronic analysis. The proposed research will have a theoretical and empirical content.

Requirements:
- an M.A. degree in English or in Linguistics or some other equivalent degree; 
- knowledge of French is a plus, but high-level English proficiency and a keen interest in linguistics will be of paramount importance.

Duties/Responsibilities
We are looking for applicants eager to: 
- develop a research project in English linguistics with a view to completing a doctoral dissertation, and
- to take care of exercise sessions in the three years of the B.A. programme and the first year of the Master’s degree.
