Description:

The Linguistic Program in the Division of Humanities at the University of
Louisville invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor
position in linguistics, with a preference for a specialty in semiotic theory
or cultural semiotics, to begin July 1, 2015.  Secondary research specialties
might include linguistic pragmatics, sociocultural approaches, theories of
language, culture and society.  Candidates must qualified to contribute to a
linguistics curriculum within an interdisciplinary humanities program.  The
candidate will be expected to teach courses in general linguistics as well as
introductory and advanced undergraduate courses.  Teaching load will be
appropriate to a research institution; salary competitive.

Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. by June, 2015 (ABD considered),
teaching experience, and a record of research and publications.  All
applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and a list of
