Meeting Description:

The purpose of this Symposium is to bring together students, scholars, and community members to share original research on a variety of Judeo-Spanish topics- linguistic, literary, cultural and historical. 

Keynote Speakers:

Avner Perez
Director, Ma’ale Adumim Institute for the Documentation of Judeo-Spanish and Sephardic Culture (Israel)

Marie- Christine Varol
Professor, National Institute for Oriental Languages & Civilizations (INALCO-France)

ucLADINO is a student-run organization at the University of California, Los Angeles dedicated to promoting the knowledge and use of the Judeo-Spanish language(s).

Call for Papers:

This year, we encourage papers exploring documentation of Judeo-Spanish writings, recordings, and visual representations. Papers on other related Judeo-Spanish topics, however, will also be considered.

Documentation topics may include, but are not limited to:

- Synchronic and/or diachronic change 	
- Language ideologies
- Judeo-Spanish periodical literature	
- Cultural identity, assimilation, or acculturation 
- Sephardic authors and their writings 	
- Documentation for preservation and education

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

Abstract should be between 150-200 words, in addition to selected references. Abstracts must be submitted through Easy Abstracts: http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/ucladino2015
