Description:

The Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders of Queens College of
The City University of New York (CUNY) seeks to fill a tenure-track position
at the Assistant Professor level beginning September 2015.  Salary range:
commensurate with qualifications and achievement; excellent benefits. The
successful candidate must have research experience with minority or endangered
languages and a demonstrable ability to teach effectively in the core areas of
General Linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics/pragmatics). The
person who fills this position should be prepared to teach an urban, diverse
student population in bachelor’s and master’s programs in linguistics, TESOL,
and applied linguistics. 

A strong commitment to research is essential. Candidates must have earned a
doctorate in linguistics or a related field by September 1, 2015 and should
evidence promise of excellence in teaching and scholarship.  Open until
filled, with review to begin on January 15, 2015.
