Description:

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student
learning, research, health care, and service, invites applications for
full-time position in Spanish Language and Literature at the Madrid Campus to
commence September 2015. 

The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Spanish, along with evidence of
research, writing and teaching excellence. Desired areas of specialization
include creative writing, language teaching methodology, and either Latin
American or Spanish literature/culture; thus, the candidate will have a
generalist background, demonstrating flexibility and experience in these
areas. The chosen candidate will teach required undergraduate and graduate
courses in Spanish/Latin American language, literature, culture, creative
writing and teaching methodology, (six courses per year, including one in the
second summer session) and will participate in academic advising and
coordination of Spanish Department activities. The candidate is also expected
to be involved in further departmental and university-wide administrative
tasks, and to maintain an active research/writing profile in the field. Good
verbal and written English-language skills are required, as is the ability to
work collaboratively in a team environment. Special consideration will be
given to candidates who are prepared for on-line teaching.
