CUHK is an international, research-intensive university whose faculty engages
in effective teaching, innovative research, and impactful service. The
Department of Linguistics and Modern Languages is a young and vibrant
Department established in 2004. The primary medium of instruction is English
at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. As part of the Department’s

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in a related discipline; (ii) strong

students; (c) develop research in his/her areas of expertise; and (d)
undertake administrative duties.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years
initially commencing August 2015, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead
to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.

Salary and Fringe Benefits

Salary will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and
experience. The University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package,
including medical care, plus a contract-end gratuity for an appointment of two
years or longer and housing benefits for eligible appointees.
