The Nature of Passives

This workshop aims at presenting up-to-date theoretical, experimental, typological, and psycholinguistic approaches to functions of passives.

Call for Papers:

Important Dates:

Submission deadline for an outline of a 20-minute talk (up to 300 words): 09 November 2014
Abstract submission deadline for the final talk (up to 500 words): 15 January 2015

Topics and Format:

Proposals for a 20-minute talk in English (plus 10 minutes for discussion) may include, but are not limited to the following themes:

Form and function of passive
Theoretical survey of passive
Experimental research on passive
Diachronic perspectives on passive
Passive and typology
Passive in language acquisition

Submissions must include the following information:

Name, affiliation, and email address of each speaker
Title of the talk
Talk outline of up to 300 words
Appropriate references

The proposals are to be submitted in DOC and PDF format by email to manuela.korth [at] ling.uni-stuttgart.de
