Full Title: Lengua y Migración

Linguistic Field(s): Anthropological Linguistics; Applied Linguistics; General Linguistics; Sociolinguistics

Call Deadline: 30-Dec-2014

Lengua y Migración / Language and Migration is a journal born for the analysis
of the linguistic realities, emergent from the migratory situations;
situations of displacement of population from one place to another. The
objective of this publication is to pay attention, in a transverse way, to any
aspect of the human migrations related to languages implied in it and the
communicative habits of people and societies affected by migrations. The works
are published in English and Spanish and are destined to the consultation by
the international scientific community.

This journal tries to gather original, theoretical, empirical, and
methodological articles analyzing the linguistic and communicative reality of
immigration in the reception communities, taking care of the social and
linguistic elements that appear in the sociolinguistic integration
development, including the processes of second languages acquisition by
immigrants. We are interested in sociolinguistic and sociological phenomena
related to migratory processes in any region or community around the world, as
well as in those processes implying speakers of different languages or even
the same language.

Linguistic specialties analyzed in Lengua y Migración / Language and Migration
are very diverse: articles about sociolinguistics and sociology of the
language are welcomed, studies of theoretical or descriptive linguistics,
pragmatics, discourse analyses, conversational analyses, ethno and
anthropo-linguistics, and also other matters interested in the use of the
language in migration contexts. Articles interested in language learning and
teaching, contrastive linguistics, and language contact in those same contexts
are of a special interest for us. In the same way, this journal leaves space
for intercultural and cross-cultural analyses as long as they have migrations
as their study object.

Manuscript Submissions: Submissions should follow the style sheet outline on
our web page and may be in either English or Spanish. All editorial
correspondence should be sent to Francisco Moreno-Fernández:
lengua.migracion at uah.es. For its final publication, papers are submitted to
the report of two anonymous external reviewers (peer review system), who may
be three in case of disagreement.
